Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease Awareness Week

Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease Awareness Week

Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease Awareness Week, observed November 20, 2017, is designed to raise awareness for Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease in order to impact positive outcomes, such as additional research, increased educational opportunities, and improved patient care for the functional GI community.

Gastroesophageal reflux disease, or GERD, is a very common disorder. Each year around the week of Thanksgiving, the International Foundation for Functional Gastrointestinal Disorders encourages people experiencing symptoms, which may be GERD-related, to consult their physician.
