Military Spouse Appreciation Day, observed the Friday preceding Mother’s Day, was created by President Ronald Reagan. President Reagan wanted to raise awareness about how much spousal commitment helps military personnel get through the worst of times. It also celebrates the immense love military husbands and wives have for each other that makes this commitment possible.
Military Spouse Appreciation Day encourages the world’s population to do the same. Military Spouse Appreciation Day recognizes not only the risk military personnel expose themselves to every day of the year, but also to the supportive families who make their many struggles bearable and possible.
The awareness color for Military Support is Red, White and Blue.
