World Meningitis Day
Confederation of Meningitis Organizations is responsible for organizing World Meningitis Day on the April 24 each year. This is a great opportunity for people all over the world to raise their voices for meningitis, through telling patient stories, raising awareness of the signs and symptoms of the disease and increasing knowledge of available vaccines.
This year's key message of the campaign includes the facts that: Meningitis is a potentially deadly disease that affects more than 1 million people worldwide each year; meningitis is a potentially deadly disease that affects more than 1 million people worldwide each year; meningitis can affect people of all ages and cause death within 24 hours; some forms of meningitis are vaccine preventable; and don’t wait until it threatens the life of someone you care about, learn what to look for and trust your instincts.
