Childhood Cancer Awareness Month

September 1 September 30 CDT

Childhood Cancer Awareness Month is observed during September and sponsored by the American Childhood Cancer Organization National Office. Childhood Cancer Awareness Month is observed by families, caregivers, charities and research groups across the United States. In the United States, 15,780 children under the age of 21 are diagnosed with cancer every year; approximately one quarter of them will not survive the disease. A diagnosis turns the lives of an entire family upside down.

Childhood Cancer Awareness Month puts a spotlight on the types of cancer that largely affect children, survivorship issues, and, most importantly, helps raise funds for research and family support.
